Keeley MacDonald, Director

Keeley MacDonald has worked hard doing extensive training throughout North America to establish herself as a female choreographer, instructor, and dancer. Her talent in dance not only involves Hip Hop, Tap, and Musical Theatre, but also Lyrical, Jazz and Ballet. Known now not only for her creative choreography and teaching techniques, Keeley is also known and loved for her personality and attitude. Her style as a dancer and as a teacher is energetic, passionate and entertaining. Keeley’s love for a good challenge and a rewarding experience is what makes her great at her job. Keeley’s choreography and dance credits include working with “The Party Squared”, “BCCMA Country Music Awards” and the Vancouver Giants Dance Team. Recently, you can see her performance and choreography showcased at “Vancity Project” where she has performed with Stylistix Hip-hop Crew and Make Your Mark Dance Company.   Keeley received her Bachelor’s in Communications from Simon Fraser University in 2010. She has extensive knowledge and experience in business, public relations and social media. She is always looking for new ways to extend her education in business and dance, by taking various workshops in Vancouver. This is her first season as Director of Dance Xpressions. After twelve years of teaching at this studio, she is overjoyed to be able to accept this promotion. She has always worked hard and has invested time and dedication into the studio and its students. At Dance Xpressions you don’t just receive quality dance training, but you become a better person. The discipline involved in dance has allowed many graduates of Dance Xpressions to move on to successful careers. She is very excited for the 2014-2015 dance season!

Alyssa Parry
Alyssa has an extensive background in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theater, Lyrical and Song and Dance. At a young age she trained with Deborah Cameron, Flora Pigeau, Barry Coulter, Goh Ballet and Rachel Poirier. She has successfully passed all of her R.A.D. exams and holds the distinguished R.A.D. Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies. At age 9 she won the Alberta Dance Festival Highest score scholarship. She then made her way to Las Vegas to win the North American Tap Championship for ages 12 and under. At 19 she won the team world championship for Canada by posting perfect scores - the first team to ever do that in Reisa, Germany. She has won numerous scholarships from Surrey and Coquitlam festivals. She has made appearances for the Honors Performance, Nutcracker, Lalapalooza with 'Green Day', fundraising banquest, film - 'Hunch Back of Notre Dame' & more. When she was 16, she was chosen to train on scholarship for 3 months at the Edge performing Arts Center in L.A. Later, she pursued a dancing career aboard Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Lines for 3 years. She now wants to pass on to her students everything she has learned, and prepare those who might consider dance to be their profession one day.
Morgan McQueen Morgan McQueen is a talented individual who has been emersed within the dance world since the young age of three. Through her training, she has excelled in styles such as Tap, Jazz , Ballet, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Lyrical. She has trained at a few studios throughout the lower mainland including Cameron Academy of classical dance with Deborah Cameron and the Langley Dance Studio with Barry Coulter. Morgan has achieved a variety of dance accomplishments throughout her life. A highlighted few include the popular teen comedy, “John Tucker Must Die”, dancing with the BC Lions as a Felion (3 years), performing aboard Carnival Cruise Lines, a member of Vancouver’s Hip Hop crew, Make your mark and she is the co-founder/ main choreographer for the Hip Hop crew Stylistix. Aside from the many dance opportunities Morgan has been involved in, she was asked to be a part of the 2005 Canadian National Tap Team which competed at the World Tap Championships in Reisa, Germany. Morgan was extremely successful in her endeavors at the competition, placing seventh overall in the Women’s solo tap category and second place in the group category. Currently Morgan is the co-ordinator for the Vancouver Giants Dance team, where she has a selected group of girls that perform during the Giants Home games and attend promotional events outside the rink. Morgan was a dancer for the team for 2 years when she was then asked to take over as co-ordinator and has been doing so for the past 6 years; She has taken the team from 5 members to 22. On top of Morgan’s evolving dance career, she takes time to stay true to her love of dance by teaching at various dance studios. She has had the opportunity to train at elite dance establishments in areas such as Los Angeles, New York City, Las Vegas and Vancouver. Morgan’s passion for dancing is evident in her many successes as a dancer and as a teacher.
Adam McKinnon
Adam Mckinnon is a Canadian professional Dancer and Choreographer, who is one of Vancouver's biggest Commercial and Music Video dancers and choreographers. Adam works with some of music's biggest artists (Michael Buble, Nelly Furtado, Marianas Trench, Carly Rae Jepsen, Elise Estrada, Cody Simpson, and so many more). He also is the creator of Vancouver's biggest Dance Showcase Vancity Project Choreography Showcase. Adam also travels around the world teaching workshops and choreography (Brazil, USA, Canada, Mexico, Europe) and loves to share the art hip hop dance. He also directs one of Vancouver's most popular dance crews OTW Crew (Ones To Watch), and W.I.T Crew (Whatever It Takes). Adam continues to train and develop as a dancer and choreographer taking classes and stepping outside his comfort zone, so he can continue to help his students grow and reach their true potential.
Daina Wilkie

Daina Wilkie fell in love with the art of Acrobatics at the age of 5. She has been training and performing professionally for the past 5 years with Anne Lawton from Westcoast Contortion & Acrobatics. Before that, Daina trained with Aldeana Bawtenheimer, competing in numerous competitions throughout the lower mainland. Throughout her 16 years of training, Daina has had the opportunity to perform at the Global TV Christmas Party in 2009, the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Thomas Lynch�s 2013 Gold New Years Party, Black Hills Estate Winery for Jason Priestley, Z95.3�s 2014 Launch Party, Destineak�s Live Shows, and many corporate banquets at various Ballrooms and Casino's.

Daina has had the privilege to train over the past few years with some of the most well known circus performers from Las Vegas, Nevada such as Otgo Waller and Kristi Toguchi as well as Sante Fortunato from Vancouver, B.C. In 2009 Daina took her A.F.S.A (Acrobatic Federation of South African) Purple Examination and received an Honours with Distinction, and in 2011 and 2013 Daina passed all her C.D.T.A. Acrobatic Exams with Honours. Daina is now a certified A.F.S.A Associate 1 Teacher as of June 2013 and has also received her Module 1 Teachers Certificate through Acrobatic Arts on November 3rd 2013.

Daina has had the honor of teaching at many different locations throughout the lower mainland and looks forward to bringing all that she has learnt throughout the years to the students at Dance Xpressions!

Joshua Haban
At the late age of 11, Joshua had his first taste of the competitive dance world. He started training in hip hop and tap at Dance Xpressions and since then has branched out to other disciplines of dance such as, but not limited to ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and musical theatre. Joshua recently received a Distinction on his Intermediate RAD exam. In 2010, Joshua had the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles to train at the renowned Edge Performing Arts Centre. From then he knew he wanted to pursue a career in dance.  In his years as a competitive dancer Joshua has won numerous awards and scholarships. In 2011, he was awarded the Most Outstanding Male Jazz Solo by the Surrey Festival of Dance and the Best Overall Performance by the Quesnel Festival of Dance. Joshua's passion for dance has also led him to train at Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver. In 2010, Joshua was awarded a scholarship to Coastal Dance Rage, a convention to work with choreographers from So You Think You Can Dance and So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Now at the age of 18 Joshua continues to pursue a professional career in classical and contemporary ballet. He is currently training at a prestigious ballet academy in Vancouver and is an apprentice for the Youth Ballet Company. Joshua is excited to be part of the faculty at Dance Xpressions and looks forward to sharing his experience and passion for dance with all of his students!
Amanda Burns
Amanda has been dancing since the age of 3, where she started with kinderdance, and progressing to a competitive jazz solo at the young age of 4. At the age of 7, she enrolled with Dance Xpressions and tried out numerous styles of dance, it was then she found her passion for Dance. When she was twelve she was awarded with a Scholarship to the Groove Street Convention, where she was able to study with numerous choreographers around the world. In the spring o f 2009, she was awarded with distinction for her R.A.D. grade four ballet exam. When she was 13 she received the opportunity to be an assistant teacher to the baby ballet group. In 2009 she was enabled to have her own personal dance classes at the studio where she found another passion – teaching! She hopes to continue with dance for many years and get more opportunities to share her love for dance with young children.
Aleah Simon

Aleah was introduced to the world of dance at the young age of three. She could not imagine her life without it. Dance is not only a hobby of Aleah’s, but a passion and a lifestyle. To Aleah the studio is a place of serenity, a place to let go. There is no such thing as a ‘bad day’ if she gets to go to the studio. Aleah has trained with Dance Xpressions since she first stepped into a studio. She also trained at Evolutionz dance studio in Chilliwack for one year. Aleah has been, and continues to be trained in a variety of dance styles including Hip Hop, Lyrical, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Modern, Contemporary, Tap and Ballet. In the summer of 2008 Aleah received a scholarship from her teachers to travel to Los Angeles to participate in The Pulse convention with the choreographers from “So You Think You Can Dance”. Aleah believes that she would not be the dancer or the person that she is today without the Dance Xpressions family. They have made her a person and dancer that she is proud to be. It is Aleah’s third year as a teacher and she is looking forward to many more exciting dance seasons.
